AHS – Push Pile Foundation Underpinning

A tendered project for a large General Contractor on a Provincial Health Care Facility. A section of this building had settled. We performed the project using our Proprietary Steel Pipe Push Pile Technology with very stringent Engineering and reporting requirements.

PROJECT GOALS

  • Lift and Stabilize a portion of the buildings foundation
  • Restore project landscape
  • Maintain building function during project

PROJECT CHALLENGES

  • Varying soils at different depths in a small area
  • Maintaining schedule on a multi faceted project while maintaining safety access for a health services building
  • Prior contractors remediation attempts now presented obstacles that had to be dealt with
  • Deep excavation in a tight area
  • Lifting brick without creating further damage

OUR APPROACH

  • Pile Design, Job Hazard Analysis and Schedule assessment
  • We put together a detailed schedule for the project to manage and perform all work
  • Project completed on schedule and on budget
  • ASTM load testing was performed
  • All exterior areas were fully restored
  • A comprehensive Engineered Turnover Package was supplied to the client and required City Schedules completed for the building permit and project
